her statements on global warming:

PALIN to GIBSON:  I think you are a cynic because show me where I have ever said
that there’s absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or
engaged in has had any affect, or no affect, on climate change.

Gibson seems to have prepped for this interview by sitting down to read the leftist blogs — many of Gibson’s questions look to be taken directly from the gross distortions of Palin’s actual words published at such lefty sites as the Huffington Post, TPM, the Democrat Underground and the Daily Kos.  Perhaps that is where Gibson’s producers did their interview prep for Gibson, or perhaps that is where Gibson himself gets his news.  Whichever may be the case, it’s a disgrace.

The facts are that Palin is not a “global warming denier” and the subtle — and fully sientific — distinction she has made simply leaves room for the well founded view that causes other than man-generated CO2 may be contributers to global warming.  In fact, the best science out there suggests that causes other than man-made CO2 are a far better fit to the data we have.  And, in fact, the CO2 theory in very dramatic ways simply doesn’t fit the data.  In other words, it’s a failed theory, if a very lucrative one for many climate “scientists” (e.g. computer modelers playing “science” on their desktop).

And it’s worth reminding everyone that the best science right now says we have been seeing global cooling for going on a decade.

So don’t trust the morons in the MSM on this.  Do you own research.  By depending on yourself, and not the hacks in the press, are much more likely to get close to the truth on topics like this.  If you aren’t ready to do the work, then stop pretending you know anything on the topic.  Because if your “knowledge” comes from Charlie Gibson and the rest of the MSM hacks, you really can’t say you know anything other than the conventional PC raving of a herd of script reading mediocities.

My epiphany was reading the 2001 UN report (the FULL one, not the political summary).

They went through a dozen specific known variables and considered the uncertainities from each. Made greenhouse gases look like small potatoes and the science completely uncertain.

The best theory so far is the wiggling solar system center of gravity theory. The center of gravity of the solar system is not always within the Sun. It varies with the relative positions of Saturn and Jupiter. When both are on the same side, the Sun sees internal tides that mix up the fusion fuel inside and increase the heat output. The harmonics of the two orbits shows long cycles of lots of mixing and then less so. These harmonics match well with the Earth’s changing climate.

I’d have MORE respect for the woman if she would come out and say “Hooey” to anthropological climate change.

And if McCain doesn’t backtrack from “cap ‘n trade” I may sit home.
