SARAH PALIN — THE MOMMY WARS EDITION.

Posted by PrestoPundit on 09/02/2008

The NY Times reports on all of the Democrat women questioning whether Palin can hold a job and be a mother at the same time.  My wife has run into a lot of this on her “mommy” chat boards.

i think the question is: is she qualified to be vice president (or president, if need be) and be a mother at the same time.

if you actually read the article, you’ll find that the women interviewed are mostly independents and a few evangelicals. The first evangelical doesn’t even address Palin’s credentials, only saying it is great that her daughter is keeping her baby (is that the only requisite evangelicals have for public office, a anti-abortion stance?).

But in the end, she is supremely un-qualified for the job. You don’t have to be an executive to be president. John McCain has never been executive of any state and he is at the top of his ticket. Republican voters don’t seem to value executive experience; otherwise, Mitt or Rudy would be the nominee. And not to belittle Alaska, but they are hardly a state with a broad-based economy. All they have are fossil fuels and gov’t handouts.

What matters is vision and policy. Palin is on the wrong side of policy: global warming denier, creationist, anti-abortion even in cases of health of the mother, narrow-minded energy policy, porkbarrel spending (she is for it if it benefits her state).

And we don’t even know what she thinks about foreign policy.

She is a radical christianist picked to sate the far religious right. i pity the republican party. Look how far they have fallen in just two generations. I can see why Ron Paul is so popular among logic-driven conservatives now.
